How can we help?
Plain answers about MusicLynk. Artists and producers can also ask CYRUS, your AI career intelligence: if something isn't working, CYRUS checks your account and can open a support ticket.
Listening, owning and Circles
What MusicLynk is
MusicLynk is where fans and artists connect: a music platform built around owning music and supporting artists directly. Listeners stream with free plays, heart songs, buy albums they then own (Library, downloads where allowed), join artists' Circles free, watch Circle-only Lives, buy merch and memberships. Artists and producers sell music, merch, Inner Circle memberships, preorders and beat licenses, run their community (Feed, Circle Chat, Drop Rooms, Vault), see their numbers in Studio and get help from CYRUS. Plans: Free (15% platform fee on eligible sales), Silver $14.99 a month (10%), Gold $29.99 (5%) and Platinum $49.99 (0%), each with more tools, limits and Live hours. Tagline: "Be part of the music."
Search
Search finds artists, people by @username, songs and albums. Only published music from approved artists appears.
Join or leave a Circle (fans)
On an artist's page press Join Circle. It is free. You get a member number (shown as In the Circle, Member #N) and the Feed, Circle Chat, Circle-only Lives and Drop Rooms open to you; View Circle takes you to the Feed. To leave, open The Circle section on the artist page and press Leave the Circle. Your Circles are listed under Circles.
Your Library: purchased music, Liked Songs and downloads
My library has two tabs: Purchased Music and Liked Songs (songs you pressed the Heart on; a Heart is not a purchase). Each purchased album shows Owned and Play, and Download (a ZIP) when the artist allows downloads; otherwise it says it plays on MusicLynk. You can also press Download album on the album page. Purchase history, Beat licenses, Merch orders and Memberships are linked at the top.
Hearts on songs
Every song has a Heart (♡). Pressing it means "I love this song": it adds the song to the listener's Liked Songs and adds one to the song's count. One Heart per person per song; press again to remove it. A Heart is not a purchase, a Circle join or a follow. Artists see Hearts by song, growth, Hearts in the first 24 hours and how many hearters also joined the Circle or bought, under Studio, Hearts and sales, and get an alert when a song reaches 10, 100, 1,000 Hearts and so on.
Gifting music
On a release or a song the artist sells on its own, choose Give as a gift. Send it to someone on MusicLynk by @username (it goes straight into their Library with your note) or as a claim link you share with anyone. A claim link works once, for 30 days; they sign in or create a free account to claim it. If nobody claims it you get a full refund automatically, and you can cancel an unclaimed gift for a full refund in Gifts you sent. If they already own it, the gift is not used and you are refunded. The recipient sees who sent it and the note, never the price. Once claimed or delivered, a gift is final like any purchase. Explicit music can only go to someone 18 or over with a date of birth on file; up to 10 gifts a day.
Want to Own and your wishlist
Press Want to own on a release (or on a song the artist sells on its own) to save it to your private wishlist in My Music Room. Only you see it. It is not a purchase or a preorder, and nothing is charged. When you buy it, or someone gives it to you, it leaves your wishlist. Artists see totals only, never names, and numbers under 10 are never shown. For artists: Songs: Hearts and sales shows Want to Own per release, who wanted it and then bought it, and listeners to Hearts to wanted to owners.
Circle Passport
Your Circle Passport is your private history with the artists you support: the projects you helped make happen, your Circles with your member numbers and the requests you backed, plus Your year in review. Open it from Circles, Your Circle Passport. Only you can see it.
Circle Score and levels
Every Circle Member has a Circle Score in each Circle they join. It adds up six categories, each with a limit: Engagement (Hearts, comments, reactions), Participation (Lives, Drop Rooms, polls, Circle Chat), Loyalty (time in the Circle, active months, days listened, a Founding Member bonus for the first 100), Amplification (shares), Support (music, merch and beats bought, Inner Circle, Stars, Vault unlocks, capped) and Community (being recognized by the artist). Repeats on the same day or item count once and refunds do not count, so the biggest spender is not automatically on top. Levels: New to the Circle, Circle Member, Circle Regular, Core Supporter, Superfan, Circle Icon, Circle Legend. Scores refresh every night; the artist can refresh once an hour. Fans see their score and exactly why at the artist page, Your Circle Score. Artists see their supporters under Studio, Supporters. Money amounts are never shown.
Top 8
The Top 8 is shown on every artist page with two tabs: This Season (the last 90 days) and All-Time. It ranks Circle Members by Circle Score. Anyone can hide themselves from Top 8 lists and leaderboards on their Circle Score page or in Profile; they still earn levels, badges and rewards. Being in the Top 8 earns the Top 8 badge while you stay there. Artists see both lists, including hidden members (marked), under Studio, Supporters.
How Live works (watching and gifts)
Lives on MusicLynk are for an artist's Circle. When an artist is live their page shows LIVE NOW, Watch live. Circle Members can watch, chat in the live's Circle chat, like (up to 50 times per live) and send gifts bought with Stars; non-members are asked to Join the Circle and watch. Artists start a Live from Studio, Go live (every plan has Live hours each month): give it a title, turn on the camera, and End live when done; only the artist (not team members) can go live.
Stars (gifts in a Live)
Stars are MusicLynk's virtual currency for gifts. Fans buy packs on the Stars page (purchases are final and non-refundable, cannot be transferred, and do not expire at this time) and send gifts during a Live (Send a gift) or on a post (Send Stars). Only Circle Members can gift in a Live. Half the value of every gift goes to the artist on every plan; gift earnings are held for 14 days and can be cashed out from $20 (the current defaults).
For artists and producers
Upload a release
Open New album (it works for a single, EP or album). Give it a title, a price and the free plays per track, add the cover and the audio files in track order, label every track Clean or Explicit, confirm your rights and permissions and the content policy, and upload. It saves as a draft; you then see a summary on the release page and publish from there.
Clean or Explicit labels
Every track must be labeled Clean or Explicit before it can be published; nothing is preselected. Label it Explicit if it has explicit lyrics or other content that needs it. If any track is Explicit the release is marked Explicit too, and clean tracks still play for everyone. Listeners under 18 cannot play or buy Explicit tracks. You can change labels on the release page (you confirm your rights again when you do), except a label MusicLynk set after a review: appeal those from Decisions in your account within 30 days. Inaccurate labels can lead to relabeling, restriction or removal.
Rights, beats, samples and features
You may upload only music you have the rights and permissions for: the recording, the song (composition), beats, samples, features and artwork. You do not have to own everything yourself, but every co-owner or licensor must have given the permissions these uses need (streaming and selling on MusicLynk). Beat leases often limit sales, streams or platforms, so check your license terms. Samples must be cleared. You confirm this on every upload, and you can keep licenses and agreements privately with each release.
Discovery streaming, prices and selling songs
Studio → Music → Free plays. Per release you choose discovery streaming: 3, 5 (recommended, and the default for new releases) or 10 free plays per song, or Unlimited. Plays are per fan per song on any device and never reset; starting the same song again within 30 minutes does not use another play, and changing the setting never stops a song someone is playing. When the plays are used, the fan sees "Love this song? Make it yours." with your prices. On an EP or album you can also sell songs one at a time (Sell songs one at a time, $0.99 to $4.99, $1.29 recommended); a single is sold on its own. The release price is set when you upload it. Card fees (about 2.9% + 30¢) apply to every sale, so they take a bigger share of a small song sale.
Publish or unpublish an album
In your Studio, each album has a Publish button. Publishing needs your page approved by MusicLynk and payouts set up.
Releases, credits and split sheets
Releases turns a single, EP or album into a project with a date and a checklist. It shows how ready you are and what is missing, holds the credits, and keeps a split sheet for each song. Every split change is saved as a new version, and a final version is locked. Link each person on a credit or split sheet to their MusicLynk account (by @username) or make a private invite link to send them yourself; they confirm or decline their own credit and share, and everyone on a sheet sees the whole sheet. A change makes a new version and asks everyone again. Someone who will never join can be marked "agreed outside MusicLynk", and the sheet shows that you marked it. A sheet can be final once everyone agreed and the totals are 100. Confirmed credits show on the song and album pages once the release is out. Rights & Splits in the Studio shows every release at a glance. A split sheet records what was agreed; it is not a contract or a payout.
Payouts
Payouts run through your own Stripe account. Set up payouts in the Money Center. Stripe sends your available money to your bank on your payout schedule; the Money Center shows the next payout, past payouts and why the last one differed. The owner can open their Stripe dashboard from the Money Center to change their bank or schedule. Gift earnings are cashed out from the Live gift earnings card once they are past the hold.
MusicLynk fees
On Free, the MusicLynk platform fee is 15% of eligible sales (singles, EPs, albums, preorders, merch items and beat licenses, not shipping). On Silver it is 10%, on Gold 5% and on Platinum 0%. Live gifts are separate: a gift is shared 50/50 on every plan. Card processing fees are separate from the MusicLynk fee and apply on every plan. Your Studio shows this month's sales, fee and what went to you.
Producer page
One page can be an Artist, a Producer or both. Turn on Producer on Profile, under Artist page ("This page is for"). A Producer page gets a Beats section and tab on the page and a Beats area in your Studio. New accounts can pick Producer when signing up.
Beats (sell beat licenses)
Studio, Beats is where producers upload beats: title, genre, BPM, key, mood and tags, artwork, a public preview (use a tagged version) and the files buyers get (MP3, WAV, stems ZIP, up to 50 MB each). Before publishing you make a rights statement (you own it all, or it has samples or collaborators and you have every permission, with each sample cleared). Choose which license tiers each beat offers and, if you like, a price for that beat. Plans: Free has up to 5 active beat listings with 1 lease tier and no exclusive (15% fee); Silver 25 listings, 10 tiers and exclusives (10% fee); Gold 100 listings with advanced analytics (5% fee); Platinum 500 (0% fee). The card processing fee comes out of your payout. Beat sales open on MusicLynk only after the legal review; until then you can set up and publish.
AI Artists
An AI Artist is an artist page whose music or identity is materially AI-generated, or a disclosed AI music project. It gets everything other artists get (music, Circle, Feed, Chat, Live, Store, Inner Circle, Drop Rooms, Vault, plans) and is always labeled AI ARTIST, with who creates and runs it shown on the page. Posts and messages from an AI Artist are shown as published by the people who run it. To become one, choose AI Artist when signing up, or tick AI Artist under Profile, Artist page, and say who runs it. A page whose published music is labeled AI-generated keeps the label. Listeners find AI music on the AI music page, the AI Artists section on Home, and the AI filter in Search.
Collaboration Room
Each release has a Collaboration Room (open it from the Release Room, Collaboration). Invite producers, engineers or featured artists by @username, or make a single-use invite link (14 days) for someone without an account. They see only that release's room: never sales, money, fans or your other releases, and they use no team seat. Anyone in the room shares WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, JPEG, PNG or PDF files up to 50 MB, private to the room, with versions. You approve a file or request changes; a new version puts it back for review. Collaborators set their status (working on it, delivered). You and room members can message each other in Messages even outside your Circle. Deals you link to the release show there for your side only. When someone leaves or is removed, their access ends and their files stay.
Claimable pages for credited people
For a credit whose person is not on MusicLynk, open the release plan, go to Credits and choose Make a claimable page (or add the credit to a page that already has exactly that name). Once the release is out, the page shows their name and the credit, marked "Listed by the artist, not yet confirmed"; it appears in MusicLynk search but not in search engines. Release pages still show confirmed credits only. The person claims it with a link that shows it is them, a note and an optional private file (never ID documents). MusicLynk reviews every claim. When approved, the credits move to their account without duplicates and they confirm or decline each one. If they already have an account, link the credit to their @username or send an invite link instead.
Your account
Account security: password, email, two-step sign-in, devices, muting
Security is in the account menu. Change your password there (you enter your current one first) and choose whether to sign out your other devices. Forgot it? Use Forgot password? on the sign-in page and open the emailed link in the same browser. Change your sign-in email there too: it changes once you open the confirmation link (you may get one at both addresses). Turn on two-step sign-in with an authenticator app (scan the QR code, enter the code); after that, signing in asks for a code. Add a second authenticator so a lost phone does not lock you out. Admin powers only work after two-step sign-in. Signed-in devices lists where you are signed in: sign out one device, all others, or everywhere. Every change shows in your Alerts. Mute someone from the ⋯ menu on their post, comment or chat message, or on their profile: you stop seeing their posts, comments, chat and alerts, they are not told and can still see you. Unmute them in Security. Block instead to stop contact both ways.
Your username
Your username is your unique @name, separate from your display name. Choose or change it on the Profile page. You can change it once every 30 days, and your old one is held for 30 days.
Alerts
Alerts shows everything sent to you. Needs attention comes first: security alerts and things that ask you to do something, until they are done. Then tabs by group. The number at the top counts security, action and important alerts; smaller updates show on the page marked New. Opening an alert marks it read, and Mark all as read clears the rest. Choose which alerts you get in Profile, Alerts.
Getting help when something does not work
Tell CYRUS what is not working, for example "Why won't my song upload?", "My Live isn't starting" or "Why isn't my beat showing?". CYRUS checks your own account (plan and uploads left, storage, release labels, beats, payouts, recent errors on your account and known MusicLynk issues), explains the likely cause and the next step. If it looks like a MusicLynk problem, or it still does not work, say "report it" and CYRUS opens a support ticket with what it found and gives you the ticket number. MusicLynk also detects repeated errors automatically.
Safety, reports and appeals
Report something
Use Report in the ⋯ menu on a post, comment, chat message or profile, or the report links on songs, beats, fan requests and artist pages. Circle posts, comments and chat are reviewed by that artist's Circle team; everything else by MusicLynk. You get an alert when your report has been reviewed. For privacy, we don't say what happened to the other person.
Mute or block someone
Mute (from the ⋯ menu or their profile) hides their posts, comments, chat and alerts from you; they aren't told. Block stops contact both ways. Manage both in Security and your Profile.
If something of yours was removed: reasons and appeals
When MusicLynk removes something, changes a label, takes music down, puts it on hold or suspends an account, you get an alert with the reason. When an artist's Circle team removes your post, comment or chat message, you are told too. Every decision is listed in Decisions. You can appeal each one once, within 30 days: MusicLynk's decisions are reviewed by MusicLynk, and Circle decisions by the artist's team. You get an alert with the outcome, and if it was a mistake it is undone.
Copyright
Your music is yours
Artists and producers own their music, masters, publishing, beats, lyrics and artwork. Buying music gives a personal license to listen, never the rights.
Report music that infringes your copyright
Use the copyright claim form (no account needed), or Report copyright on the song, release, beat or portfolio item. We review every claim. A complete, credible claim puts the item on hold, and the uploader is told.
Your music was put on hold after a claim
You get an alert with a link to the claim. If it was a mistake, send a counter-notice from there. The item may be restored after 14 days unless the claimant reports a court case. Accounts with repeated valid claims may be closed.
