How MusicLynk charts work
MusicLynk Charts rank music using legitimate fan activity, including qualified plays, Likes and eligible purchases during the selected chart period. Suspicious or fraudulent activity is filtered before rankings are calculated.
Overall combines plays, Likes and purchases, each on the same scale, so no single number decides a chart. A play counts once the listener has really listened, and repeat plays from the same listener count for less. A purchase counts once it's completed; refunds and chargebacks don't count, and nobody can chart their own music. Plays, Likes and Sales rank by that one thing.
Weeks run Monday to Sunday and months by the calendar, in New York time. The current period is the current chart; when it ends it becomes final and is kept as it was. Movement compares with the previous final chart. Trending Now is different: it reflects music gaining meaningful fan momentum right now.
